Hi my name is Matt
Scott and I will be one of your ASB co-leaders! I am a senior planning to
attend medical school in the Fall! I first became passionate about service
through my involvement with my HOSA chapter in high school. This passion has
translated into a variety of activities throughout my college years- finally
leading me to ASB! I am very interested social structures, specifically those
that impact Public Health. I think focusing on food security and justice is an
excellent way to learn more about how our resources can affect our overall
wellbeing.
Greetings all!
My name is Sam England, and I am your other ASB co-leader. I am also a senior,
and I will be attending law school this Fall. My interest in service was
cultivated while I was working towards earning my Eagle Scout award in high school. Since
then, my passions have centered on public health and specifically on
disparities in health outcomes strongly correlated to socioeconomic inequality.
I hope to address these issues at a policy level during and after law school.
In the meantime, I am looking forward to addressing one aspect of public health –
food justice and security – alongside all of you!
As
the day approaches where we will be able to meet as a group for the first time
and unveil certain aspects of our trip, we hope you are all as excited about
serving as the two of us are. We look forward to exploring new concepts with
you and learning from all of you as well as we build authentic relationships that will last long after March 18th. Our hope is that this trip not only
enhances the lives of the people in the community we serve, but that it also
becomes a memorable experience that will
inspire all of us to take what we learned on the trip and apply it in
innovative ways in other communities. We eagerly await engaging in
life-changing acts with each and every one of you!
